I confess I haven't read the book (although I have flicked through it in the Christian bookshop) but I am a little puzzled as to why Ponsonby would be convinced that Acts 19 refers to unbelievers. Even cessationists tend to explain away that passage as being exclusive to the apostolic era and apply the fact that we shouldn't be taking Acts as narrative.

(v2) says quite clearly in most translations; "Did you receive ... WHEN you believed?".

Does he go into detail much as to how that can apply to unbelievers? Plus like you I am disappointed that he doesn't interact with David Pawson's view, I like you remain staggered that so many ignore his views and insights!
